- Oversee daily operations of histology within the central lab
- Hire, train, develop, and manage histology staff and supervisors
- Ensure regulatory compliance with CAP, CLIA, CMS, JCAHO, and FDA standards
- Manage department budget and monitor financial performance
- Coordinate quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic projects and technology implementation
- Maintain department policies, procedures, and training programs
- Serve as a resource to physicians, clients, and other lab departments
- Communicate effectively across departments and throughout the division
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Biomedical Sciences (required)
- Master's Degree preferred
- Certification:
- National Certification (ASCP or equivalent) as a Medical or Histology Technologist (required)
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience in histology (manager or director level preferred)
- Experience in a high-volume hospital or central laboratory setting
- Leadership-minded with a drive to elevate team performance
- Strategic thinker with strong decision-making and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
