THE WORK
As a Lead Geospatial Engineer you will:
Design, analyze and develop geo-spatial solutions in support of simulation and training devices. Datatypes to include raster, vector, model products including feature data, elevation data, imagery, and 3D models. Plans, designs, develops, documents and analyzes data workflows to synthesize work products in support of target platforms. Applies software to manage spatial and related tabular data.
You will contribute to the design, development, and production of terrain databases for flight simulation. This includes analysis and definition of training requirements; visual database tools design/development; use of COTS tools for visual database development. Specific efforts will include requirements analysis, development of design approaches, potential interfacing with program/technical management and customers.
You will oversee design, development, integration, testing of a mission area database. You will apply technically advanced, innovative, and cost-effective solutions to create immersive environments for modern military aviation training. Specific efforts will include requirements creation, development of design, labor estimating, schedule generation, earned value management, problem solving and potential interfacing with program/technical management and customers.

Basic Qualifications
Experience creating and integrating content for 3D visual databases.
Familiarity with Agile execution methodologies.
3D modeling experience for virtual reality.
Proven ability in planning work and leading a team.
Desired skills
Direct experience in one or more of the following areas: Image Generation system, hardware or software simulation design; visual/multispectral/terrain database design and/or generation, or simulator display design. Experience with Collins Aerospace and Aechelon Image Generators highly desired.
Experience with commercially available database, 3D modeling, and other production toolsets is desired such as Presagis Creator, Autodesk 3DS Max, Maya, Blue Marble Global Mapper, Adobe Photoshop, Blender.
Experience in terrain modeling for thermal and/or radar sensors would be a plus.
Experience with designing, developing, and following workflows to generate 2D and 3D terrain database products leveraging COTS products and industry-standard data formats.
Experience with languages such as Python and Unix scripting (e.g. bash/shell) is a bonus.
Experience with leading Agile execution and using Agile tools (e.g. JIRA and Confluence).
The curiosity and drive to track, research, and evaluate advancements in the field.

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
