John Stoddard Cancer Center , a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is among the top achieving cancer programs in the nation and has been recognized for its quality cancer care. We have been a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program for over 45 years. We are also a Breast Cancer Center and Clinical Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Center of Excellence. This is a result of decades of research, cancer treatment experience and cancer care technology. We have one of the most technologically advanced and diverse radiation oncology departments in the Midwest. Patients and their families have access to a wide range of services that were created to provide them with comprehensive and compassionate care including oncology navigators, patient support groups, nutritional support, survivorship, genetic counseling, and wellness programs. Responsibilities
The Role
- Join a growing team of physicians and advanced practitioners providing patient-centered, multi-disciplinary care to oncology patients in the Des Moines area
- Duties include: Co-managing patients on treatment and inpatient, urgent visits for symptoms, follow-up visits, symptom management, patient education and survivorship
- Avg. 13-15 patients/day

- Full-time positions include dedicated administrative time, with flexible scheduling to ensure sufficient patient access
- 24/7 hospitalist program is responsible for adult and pediatric inpatients
- Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certified
- Prior experience in Oncology
- Oncology certification preferred
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of State
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States
