Social Platforms Director
The DSCC is seeking a Social Platforms Director to manage the day-to-day production and workflow of content for the committee's online channels. This role will support the management of all DSCC-owned digital content including social media, graphics, and video.
This role is a good fit for someone who has shown measurable success running high-volume, high-profile social media accounts, with a focus on rapid response and vertical video. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with exceptional writing skills, who is passionate about platform-specific content and thoughtful about the way Democrats need to communicate online.
This person will work within the Digital Content Department and report to the Digital Content Director.
This is not always a 9-6, M-F job and will require work outside of normal business hours. This position is based in Washington, DC. This position is expected to regularly come into the DSCC office and may occasionally require travel throughout the cycle and travel to a battleground state for GOTV efforts ahead of Election Day.

Responsibilities:
- Act as in-house social media content expert, plugged into the latest social media trends, managing day-to-day content for the DSCC across platforms
- Develop and manage a thoughtful content calendar. Lead drafting and posting of all DSCC content.
- Work closely with the creative team to request and develop content for DSCC-owned channels
- Develop and shape the committee's online presence and messaging across social media platforms, prioritizing rapid response
- Develop and execute platform-specific strategies for expansion platforms including YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, and more
- Develop processes and content for audience engagement strategies, including comments, stories, pinned posts, and more
- Support the Digital Content Director and Deputy Digital Director with engagement strategies for content creators, online surrogates, and key amplifiers
- Test, learn, and refine content strategies to boost engagement, expand our audience, and maximize performance
- Track KPIs, share actionable insights, and evolve strategies based on what's working (and what's not). Present reports and insights to department leadership, making data-driven recommendations
About You:
- 2 cycles of experience managing successful high-volume content programs.
- At least 1 cycle of campaign experience, including campaign work outside of DC, preferred.
- Experience managing organic social media for a candidate, elected official, or other principal.
- Experience on a Senate campaign or other statewide campaign highly preferred.
- Experience with principal/candidate management preferred
- Experience working with content creators and/or non-traditional media a plus
- Proficiency in graphic design, photography, and audio/video editing a plus
- Committed to a no drama workplace
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
The salary for this position is $110,000 annually.
