What You'll Do
We're looking for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Principal Asset Management business area as a Senior Technical Accountant on the Accounting Policy and Research Team. This team gives you the opportunity to partner with colleagues to implement new GAAP and Statutory guidance to ensure compliance with reporting requirements. In this role, you'll conduct research on complex and unique transactions to assess the appropriate accounting treatment and assist with investment integrations related to strategic investment transactions. This is an individual contributor role, and not a people leader role. This team partners with key internal and external collaborators to advocate for the business while protecting the integrity of the financial statements. Successful candidates will have a strong aptitude for technical accounting and a natural curiosity to want to dig in and understand. Candidates will also have a strategic approach and strong communication skills to explain complex technical matters in an understandable manner to people of varying backgrounds across teams. Specific responsibilities will include coordinating GAAP and Statutory accounting policy activities, distributing periodic updates on new and emerging accounting pronouncements, serving as a strategic advocate for new accounting policies and procedures, and partnering with peers to review the purchases of unique investment structures.

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$106400 - $144400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

- Strategically approach issues to advocate for the business while protecting the integrity of the financial statements. Not being afraid to speak up and challenge concerns with stakeholders, other business areas, the auditors, etc.
- Have strong relationships, gain trust, and collaborate with all collaborators: Portfolio management team, CAO's, CFO's, other areas of organization, external auditors, and other PGI Reporting teams.
- Leadership skills managing a project-based workload including setting achievements, communicating findings, and holding other project members accountable as well as being thoughtful about balancing workload and being strategic about opportunities.

Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent work experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience required
- Public Accounting experience is ideal
Skills That Will Help You Stand Out
- GAAP & Statutory experience is recommended
- Consolidation guidance, such as VOE/VIE analysis is ideal
- Experience with investments is ideal
- CPA or other applicable certifications preferred
