About the Role
We are looking for a Manager Private Markets Operations, US to join us in New York. This role will join a small Investment Operations team and be responsible for providing expert operational support for Unlisted Asset transactions, such as Private Credit and Private Equity. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Operations US, you will be the SME in the Private Markets sector in the US, and you will:
The successful applicant will have a strong background in managing the operational support of private markets transactions and lifecycle events. Experience in navigating the complexities of private markets and strong problem-solving skills will be key to excelling in this role. An understanding of how these investments interact with fund accounting processes would be extremely advantageous, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations across the business.

The ideal candidate will be a true SME in the Private Credit Investment Operations space, with significant, demonstrable experience in a similar Fund / Asset / Investment Management organisation, with a proven track record of supporting private markets transactions, including private credit, private equity, and other relevant unlisted assets. You are passionate about both investment operations and people, with a desire to grow alongside our expanding New York office. You have exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, combined with a strategic approach and ability to see the bigger picture whilst ensuring day-to-day operations continue to be managed efficiently and effectively.

Pay transparency notice
The salary range for this position is $200,000 to $240,000 (this is based on full-time hours, located in New York City). The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and refers to the amount AustralianSuper is willing to pay at the time of posting.

About the Role
We are looking for a Manager Private Markets Operations, US to join us in New York. This role will join a small Investment Operations team and be responsible for providing expert operational support for Unlisted Asset transactions, such as Private Credit and Private Equity. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Investment Operations US, you will be the SME in the Private Markets sector in the US, and you will:
- Provide point-of-contact support for the asset management and transaction lifecycle events related to Private Credit, Private Equity, and other Private Market Assets such as Real Estate, and Infrastructure.
- Support the coordination and management of activities associated with the implementation of new Private Markets Investments activity.
- Jointly lead the successful delivery of the complete suite of Investment Operations Services into the Investment teams, including utilisation of platforms such as iLevel and Aladdin.
The successful applicant will have a strong background in managing the operational support of private markets transactions and lifecycle events. Experience in navigating the complexities of private markets and strong problem-solving skills will be key to excelling in this role. An understanding of how these investments interact with fund accounting processes would be extremely advantageous, ensuring seamless integration and efficient operations across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help us establish a Private Markets Investment Operations function in the US
- Operationally support new investment transactions and work closely with the transaction team: Investments, Legal, Tax, Transaction Managers, Custodian, etc.
- Manage the coordination of funding with our custodian alongside the transaction team.
- Support the lifecycle events of the Funds' investments across Private Equity, Private Credit, and other Private Markets.
- Ensure accuracy of the custodian records in relation to Separate Legal Entities (SLEs) and distributions, capital calls, and unlisted investment activity within the accounting book of records.
- Identify and implement improvements to operational processes.
- Assist with projects and ad hoc requests, as needed.
- Develop collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, internal teams, and external service providers.
