Job Summary: This is an exciting role in an innovative company. We are hiring an experienced Atlassian Engineer with strong Jira development skills. You will build, customize, and maintain Atlassian solutions that support the cross functional business. You will develop new features, extend system capabilities, and optimize workflows to meet the defense sector's evolving business and technical requirements.
Responsibilities:
Engineering & Administration
Administer Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence - data center edition
Design and implement project templates, custom fields, issue types, and screens
Build and maintain automation rules, advanced workflows, and permissions
Evaluate and manage third-party apps from the Atlassian Marketplace
Manage Data Center Edition deployments work with hosting team on upgrade paths
Maintain secure access controls and configurations
Manage 300+ Jira projects and Confluence spaces
Perform data migrations across Atlassian instances
Provide user training and system documentation
Development
Develop custom scripts and post-functions using a developer toolkit
Build REST API integrations with external systems (e.g. internal tools and applications)
Create custom plugins or extend existing ones to deliver new capabilities
Automate repetitive admin tasks through scripting and API-based tooling
Debug and troubleshoot errors in custom scripts and app interactions
Optimize performance of dashboards, filters, and backend configurations
Collaborate with engineering teams to align tool features with SDLC practices
Basic Qualifications:
8+ years of experience with Jira and Confluence administration and development in the data center versions of Atlassian
Strong knowledge of Jira workflow design, automation, and scripting
Proficiency in Groovy, REST APIs, JSON, and JQL
Experience with plugin development or customization
Familiarity with system performance tuning and troubleshooting
Experience supporting software development, DevSecOps, or Agile programs
Clear written and verbal communication
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Atlassian certifications (ACP-120, ACP-620, etc.)
Experience with Bitbucket, Bamboo, or CI/CD toolchains
Development experience in Java or Python
Prior experience supporting defense or aerospace engineering teams

As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$138,100-$173,300 USD
