Binnie is looking for a Transportation Engineer to join our Transportation Major Projects Division, which provides Owner's Engineer services for the design, procurement and construction of major infrastructure projects in British Columbia.

Our recent projects include Highway 91/17 Improvements, Patullo Bridge Replacement project and Alex Fraser Bridge Capacity Improvements.

The position is full-time based out of our Burnaby office, located near scenic Deer Lake . You will work closely with our talented and diverse team of experienced Engineers and Project Managers at varied experience levels. This dynamic and challenging role offers excellent mentorship opportunities.

You will deliver a variety of transportation engineering projects, and act as the Engineer of Record (EOR) when required. You will play an integral role in projects. You will act as the project manager for projects and as a main point of contact with clients, lead the development of conceptual and detailed designs, perform peer reviews of technical deliverables, review engineering designs and documents prepared by others and follow Binnie's quality management system. You will guide, direct, train, and mentor technical staff such as EIT's and Co-Op Students. This role offers great career advancement opportunities.

YOUR ROLE:
Technical management of multidisciplinary engineering projects which include transportation/civil design and collaborating with specialized sub-disciplines.
Leading the development of transportation engineering designs from conceptual design to detailed design in accordance with applicable design guides/codes and client standards.
Preparation of contract documents and costs estimates and assisting with the tender process.
Preparing engineering calculations in accordance with current standards
Serving as EOR and signing and sealing engineering drawings, technical reports and memoranda.
Reviewing work and completing quality control procedures as per Binnie's Organizational Quality Management Policy (OQM)
Conducting business development as required
Assisting with proposal writing

WHAT YOU BRING:
A minimum of 7 + years of related experience in a transportation engineering environment
Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC
Ability to lead the design management of transportation projects involving multiple disciplines
Valid BC Driver's License and personal vehicle preferred
Strong experience in transportation engineering
Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership to review other's work including AutoCAD and Civil3D designs. Capabilities on AutoCAD and Civil 3D is an asset.
Strong communication and time management skills and ability to work concurrently on several different projects
Ability to consistently maintain a high degree of accuracy and quality
Ability to effectively meet project demands and deadlines
Strong desire for continuous learning and ability to provide technical guidance and expertise to the team
Willingness to work out of client offices and site offices as projects dictate and perform field reviews as needed
