The Colton Power Project consists of two facilities, Drews and Century, located in Colton, California. Each facility is a 40 MW simple cycle gas turbine power plant with four GE 10 aeroderivative gas turbines. These facilities are managed and operated from the Tracy Power Project, ensuring an efficient and coordinated approach to power generation.
Opportunity Summary
The Gas Turbine Technician Lead is responsible for providing knowledgeable and expertise advise in developing and reviewing maintenance and repair plans for plant technicians to execute on all engines, components, instruments, control systems and ancillary equipment in the power plant(s) and the associated facilities. Including but not limited to evaluation of inspections, repairs, testing, adjustments, installations, and removal of all equipment and systems, providing guidance and technical leadership for the GE 10 aeroderivative gas turbines.

Your scope of responsibility as Gas Turbine Technician Lead includes the following primary functions:
NAES Safe

Working Relationships
Reports to NAES Senior Engineer and work in cooperation with the Plant Manager and operating utility on matters pertaining to the daily operation of the Gas Turbine Fleet of GE-10's, responds to direction from the Plant Manager
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must possess the visual ability to read reports and effectively use a computer. Strong hearing ability is required for clear communication with co-workers. The role requires prolonged standing and walking to various areas within the plant, as well as the physical capability to bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces while handling equipment and materials.
Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions.
Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
Fitness for Duty
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
Regular scheduled workdays are Monday to Friday during regular dayshift hours. Position may require extended working hours and varied shifts at times with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. Occasional travel to support other power plant assets.
Compensation
Starting compensation is $118,900 annually.

- Evaluate specifications in design drawings before adding or replacing tools.
- Prepare layouts and drawings for the assembly process and parts, typically using three-dimensional design software.
- Recommend cost-effective changes in equipment design to enhance reliability and safety.
- Review instructions and blueprints to ensure project plans align with test specifications, procedures, and objectives.
- Plan, produce, and assemble mechanical parts for products, such as industrial equipment.
- Set up and conduct tests on complete units and their components, and record results.
- Compare test results with design specifications and objectives, recommending changes to products or test methods when necessary.
- Perform calculations for business estimates, including labor costs and equipment lifespan.
- Maintain comprehensive equipment files, logs, and drawings for all designated equipment.
- Forecast, inventory, and reorder spare parts to ensure plant reliability, assisting in physical inventories as needed.
- Contribute to the administrative upkeep of GE-10 operating manuals, technical references, prints, diagrams, and preventive/predictive maintenance records.
- Support projects and upgrades by coordinating with contractors and sourcing materials.
- Supervise inspections, repairs, installations, and removals of various equipment, including pumps, gas compressors, valves, motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signals, communication systems, and storage batteries, while also working with electrical systems.
- Provide troubleshooting advice and analysis on MK VI, MK VIe, and turbine control equipment.

Job Qualifications
We are seeking a Gas Turbine Technician Lead with a passion for excellence in plant operations and maintenance, a work history demonstrating progressively increasing responsibilities, and prior experience in a power plant environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Graduation from an accredited Gas Turbine Technician Training Program.
- 10-15 years of experience as a Gas Turbine Engineer or Gas Turbine Technician Lead / Technical Field Advisor (TFA) with increasing responsibility in a related industry.
- Extensive experience working with GE Frame and Aero-Derivative gas turbines, including GE-10, with expertise in their operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in power plant operations, maintenance, or engineering, with a strong understanding of operations and maintenance components.
- Experience providing troubleshooting advice and analysis on MK VI, MK VIe, and turbine control equipment to ensure reliable operation and effective problem resolution.
- Skilled in analyzing equipment failures, identifying root causes, and developing effective recovery plans. Proficient in using OEM diagnostic software to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Proven ability to implement cost-effective solutions to prevent equipment failures and optimize plant performance.
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to support accurate design, development, and execution of engineering projects.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills, with the ability to present facts, conclusions, and recommendations clearly in written communications.
- Capable of working both independently and collaboratively while applying creative solutions to unique gas turbine challenges.
