Job Summary:

Responsible for the implementation & maintenance of store systems and the execution and compliance of operational directives impacting stores and their mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Participates in the development & implementation of business systems, policies, procedures, new programs and technical correspondence relating to store operations.

- Performs as project leader during implementation of business systems, provides guidance and direction to Operations Specialists, as required, reviews work while in progress and/or upon completion of work assigned Operations Program Managers informed and provides briefs on progress being made or problems encountered.

- Assists Operations Program Manager with revisions and/or reviews publications and technical directives relating to store operations. Makes necessary changes and corrections as required.

- Oversees hardware implementation as it relates to field or HQ operations systems

- Responsible for the review, testing and implementation of new business systems, including the development of policies & procedures to support the new systems.

- Oversees the implementation of business systems, including conducting acceptance tests. Advises and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and operating results.

- Conducts operational store visits and determines compliance with corporate directive, objectives, policies and programs as they relate to retail store operations. Makes recommendations to Operations Program Manager to improve efficiencies and operating results based on store findings.

- Advises on store operations with focus on increasing productivity at HQ and field level. Works closely with store personnel to motivate them towards greater effectiveness in achievement of operational goals.

- Studies technical publications on in-store processes and equipment. Provides opinions and options to cross functional codes as it relates to hardware and software procurement.

- Serves as corporate officer technical representative (COTR) for retail expense items for store use as well as contracted services such as GNEX gift Cards and Mood Media. Monitors quality of manufacture's items and corresponds with contracture on an as needed basis.

- Serves as code N lead for various corporate programs and initiative as required. Will participate as lead advisor for RIE (Rapid Improvement Events) as dictated by Code N VP Operations.

- Manage solutions in relation to specific business practice, describe and help design solutions addressing functional and non-functional needs such as SOP (Statement of Work) and business requirements. This requires cross functional collaboration with other codes and external vendors.

- Define features, phases and requirements related to project assignments.

- Assist with management of content that is posted to the Code N website via SharePoint to ensure communication and data stays relevant and timely.

- Performs collateral duties for Operations Program manager when they are out of office. Is point person for NR Support Team when manager is not available.

- Creates IT Service Desk Manager (SDM) Support Incidents/Change Orders. Resolves/responds to inquiries/questions/requests/IT SDM Support Incidents/Change Orders submitted to Code NR; escalating issues and concerns when applicable.

- Collaborates with Asset Protection/Safety on operational reviews (APIS), and adjusts policies to mitigate risks.

- Uses software tools such as RMS, RDW, POS, SIM, SMU, Store Connect, MobaXterm, etc. to manage product assortment, pricing, inventories and management tools.

- Serves as Code N back-up for various corporate programs/initiatives as required, including enterprise-wide annual inventory for greeting card vendor, Navy Marine Corps Relief Society Benefit Campaign (twice annually), Quality Assurance (QA) Audits of ASN Suppliers/deliveries with store locations and Code S, NEXTgen Scholars Program, Code N Records Officer overseeing the Code's records management program, Code N Safety Warden;

- Prepares applicable documentation/briefings on current programs for Senior Management and All Hands meetings.

- Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with our Sister Services (AAFES, CGX, MCX) to ensure consistency of programs and policies.

- Maintains in-house stock of various Code NR materials to ensure availability for same day distribution to field activities and customers.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Works under the general supervision of Operations Program Manager who establishes priorities and deadlines and defines the scope of assignments. Exercises high degree of independence and participates in decision making in all areas of the organization/ strategic planning process. Review of work is minimal in terms of overall achievement of objectives and goals.

A total of 6 years experience as follows:

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience in administrative, professional, or other responsible work that enabled the applicant to gain knowledge of store operation practices and procedures; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships, and the ability to exercise mature judgment.

OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: One year of academic study above the high school level may be substituted for nine months of experience, up to a maximum of a four-year bachelor's degree for three years of general experience.

AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Three years of progressively experience which provided a background in store operation management; including analysis of operating budgets, inventory management practices and procedures; development and evaluation of sales objectives and expense control programs; development and implementing sales promotion programs; or similar work that demonstrated the knowledge and ability to perform the work of the position.
