Summary
Research, designs, and develop embedded computer systems software, in conjunction with hardware product development, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for improving the software quality as delegated by management.
- Gather and analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints as directed by Engineering Management.
- Consult with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate the interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system as directed by Engineering Management.
- Develop software requirements specifications, software development plans, test procedures and other documentation as directed by Engineering Management.
- Develop software that meets or exceeds product software requirements.
- Develop and coordinate software configuration management, software release process and installation procedures.
- Provide directions to the Software Development Team and monitor priorities to deliver software on schedule.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent Engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years of experience developing software and firmware for embedded computer systems.
- Good communication and business relation skills
- Experience writing software for device drivers under one or more of the following operating systems: Windows, Linux (VxWorks would be nice to have)
- Must have expertise in the following languages: C/C++, Python, LINUX shell scripts.
- Must be proficient in the use and understanding of DOS, Windows and LINUX operating systems
- Must have experience with managing software development projects, including coordination of small teams of software developers.
- Must have expertise with industry standard software version control methodologies and tools, such as Git and SVN.
- Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent project management tools.
- Must be able to understand product datasheets and schematics.
- Must be able to understand x86 Intel Processor and Chipset architecture.
- Knowledge of x86 architecture System BIOS is a plus.
- Knowledge of NVIDA GPUs is a plus.
