What You Will Do:

As the Global Procurement Director of Third-Party Manufacturing (3PM) at Lubrizol, you will step into a strategic leadership position where you will drive our global procurement strategy for third-party manufacturing partners. In this role, you will identify and establish strategic partnerships, negotiate favorable contracts, and optimize procurement processes to support our company's growth and maintain our competitive edge. We are seeking someone with exceptional leadership skills, extensive procurement experience, and a strategic mindset to drive long-term value creation.

What We're Looking For:

  • Strategic Procurement Leadership:
    • Develop and execute a global procurement strategy for third-party manufacturing that aligns with the company's overall business objectives and competitive positioning.
    • Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, providing insights on market trends, risks, and opportunities in third-party manufacturing.
    • Lead the continuous improvement and innovation of procurement processes to enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and supplier performance.
  • Partner Identification and Strategic Sourcing:
    • Identify, evaluate, and establish strategic partnerships with new third-party manufacturing partners to ensure alignment with the company's quality, cost, and delivery standards.
    • Conduct thorough market analysis and competitive benchmarking to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigate risks.
    • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key suppliers and industry stakeholders.
  • Contracting and Strategic Negotiation:
    • Lead high-stakes contract negotiations with third-party manufacturers, securing favorable terms that support the company's strategic and financial objectives.
    • Develop and manage long-term strategic agreements with suppliers, prioritizing cost efficiency, quality, and innovation.
    • Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements during the contracting process while protecting the company's interests.
  • Manufacturing Scale-Up and Optimization:
    • Oversee the strategic scaling of manufacturing processes with third-party partners to meet current and future production demands.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
    • Continuously monitor and analyze production performance, implementing strategic initiatives to optimize efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Project and Initiative Leadership:
    • Lead and manage strategic procurement projects and initiatives, ensuring they are aligned with the company's long-term goals and deliver measurable results.
    • Develop and oversee project plans, strategically allocate resources, and monitor progress against key milestones.
    • Communicate project status, strategic implications, and risk mitigation plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Performance Management and Strategic Reporting:
    • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the strategic performance of third-party manufacturing partners.
    • Prepare and present regular strategic reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings to senior leadership.
    • Implement continuous improvement initiatives that drive strategic value and enhance supplier performance.


Skills That Make A Difference:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree or relevant certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing third-party manufacturing relationships with a strategic focus, including sourcing, contracting, and scaling up production.
  • Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams and strategic projects in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and strategic problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
