Key Responsibilities
Department Management
- Supervise and develop the purchasing and inventory team, conducting performance evaluations and providing growth opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Optimize departmental structure and workflow for efficiency.
- Manage the departmental budget and provide strategic guidance on procurement and inventory decisions.
- Address escalated issues and act as a key decision-maker.
Purchasing
- Develop and manage procurement budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and lead times.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet production schedules.
- Manage purchase orders, vendor relationships, and delivery follow-ups.
- Resolve supplier issues related to defective or substandard materials.
Inventory Management
- Oversee stock levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to align with production needs.
- Maintain and enhance inventory tracking systems to monitor stock movement and reorder points.
- Conduct physical inventory counts and support financial audits.
- Optimize warehouse layout for efficient material storage and retrieval.
- Minimize holding costs by aligning inventory levels with production and demand forecasts.
Qualifications
- Education: BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 10+ years in manufacturing, including 5+ years in a managerial role.
- Skills:
- Expertise in purchasing (CPIM) and inventory management (APICS).
- Proficiency in AS400, PRMS, PMS, Excel, and Word.
- Strong knowledge of freight carriers and logistics.
- Ability to manage people, processes, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced environment.
