Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Principal Piping Designer to join our team. This role has the responsibility to promote Fluor's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. The purpose of this position is to provide the essential technical knowledge and perform work on design and 3D layout of moderate to complex advanced scope and may serve as Design Area Lead.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in piping design and be capable of handling tasks of advanced complexity. This role requires a deep understanding of 3D modeling, CAD, and interdisciplinary coordination to ensure the successful execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver quality work and adhere to the Quality System.
Conduct reviews using a 3D review platform and create 3D models of advanced complexity.
Apply project drawing standards to design drawings and 3D layouts. Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) drawings of advanced complexity.
Prepare layouts and schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity.
Work closely with other team members to develop and check complex piping drawings, including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics, and sketches. Review drawings and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity for compliance with project requirements and actively seek discrepancy resolution.
Develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects.
Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, and key quantities tracking reports.
Incorporate health, safety, and environmental factors into design.
Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations.
Execute project work in accordance with approved Activity Plans.
Provide close interface with, and promote the understanding of, other discipline functions.
Engage Fluor's global community, promoting a OneFluor mindset.
Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures.
Participate in people development through mentoring of less experienced designers, including performance appraisal input and counseling.
Contribute to and promote the use of Fluor's knowledge management portals and communities.
Support Functional Process Lead and Department Manager on initiatives.
Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed.
Adhere to and support Fluor's HSE Policies.
Effectively develop and apply core skills to the job.
May need to travel to attend to business-related matters.
Meet expectations on attendance and punctuality.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements
Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in technical field of study, or; A combination of education and directly related experience equal to fifteen (15) years*; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials
Practical field experience
Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs

Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience in piping design with a focus on advanced complexity.
Proficiency in 3D modeling and CAD software. (Smart 3D, AutoCAD P3D, CADWorx, Aviva, ACC, NWS etc)
Strong understanding of industry codes and standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to mentor and develop less experienced designers.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards. Ability to interpret P&ID, update master P&ID, and piping line list.
Experience in Pharmaceutical, Data Center, and Semiconductor industries.
Piping design requirements (equipment arrangement, piping layout, stress requirements, and material requirements)
SharePoint, Bluebeam
