The $12.5Bn CIF is the pioneer multilateral fund, mobilizing low-cost finance for energy system transformation and sustainable development. Established in 2008, CIF is the only multilateral fund working exclusively through six AAA-rated multilateral development banks. In 2025, CIF became the first multilateral climate fund to access capital markets to unlock private sector capital with the CIF Capital Markets Mechanism (CCMM).

CIF funding, featuring high quality financing and high co-financing ratios, empowers developing countries, lowers risk, enables first-of-their-kind investments, and contributes to transformational change.

The CIF Secretariat hosted by The World Bank supports the work of the CIF governing bodies, including strategy and policy development as well as reporting; manages internal and external institutional relations as well as strategic partnerships; supports program development; delivers a large program of thought leadership, knowledge and learning work; is responsible for portfolio risk management and new private sector capital mobilization modalities and initiatives.

Duties and Accountabilities:

The ideal candidate will:
have demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while regularly reporting progress and risks to senior management.
have the ability to work independently, seeking guidance on complex projects issues from more senior staff.
demonstrate proven planning and organizational skills, with the know-how to get things done, particularly under tight deadlines.
have a proven track record in managing the development of content projects.
be practical in their approach to work with an emphasis on simplicity of communications across all workstreams.
have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating evidence of ability to work well in a cross-functional team.
have excellent oral and written communication skills. Spoken and written fluency in English required and French/Spanish desirable.

Roles and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Senior Communications Officer - Communications Team Lead of CIF, this position will collaborate with and provide hands-on support to key leaders across all workstreams of the Secretariat.

Specific responsibilities include:

In collaboration with the Senior Communications Officer - Communications Team Lead, support the implementation of the CIF communications strategy, including MDB communications; partner engagement; and activities to promote better understanding of the CIF's mandate and programs. This includes:

Content Planning and Development:
Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and target audiences.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and develop pipeline of projects.
Develop and refine overall system for content development and delivery, including forward-looking editorial planning, updating editorial guidelines and supporting team content needs as they arise.
Develop and implement the systems and processes required to deliver

a pipeline of high-quality, engaging, and brand-aligned content for multiple channels, including websites, blogs, social media, newsletters, reports, and press materials.
Project manage the creation, editing, and publishing of high-quality content and communications products, including but not limited to campaigns, web stories, web copy, press releases, social media messages, videos, talking points, thought leadership articles, PowerPoint presentations, brochures, factsheets etc.

Content Management:
Manage and maintain the editorial calendar, coordinating with key stakeholders to meet deadlines.
Coordinate and manage the development and delivery of the CIF planning calendar..
Project manage and oversee content contributors including writers, designers, social media content producers and video editors to deliver content and communications products in line with overall objectives brand identity and agreed timelines.
Coordinate and project manage the digital content delivery scheduleensuring timely delivery, compliance with relevant guidelines and brand alignment.

Project and Team Coordination:
Identify, procure and manage external consultants and vendors as required.
Oversee contributions from short term consultancy contractors.
Manage related projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
Manage QA/QA to ensure adherence to branding, style, and messaging guidelines.
Track and report on effectiveness and efficiencies of work processes, using insights to refine delivery strategies.

Selection Criteria
Master's degree in communications, public relations or a related field is required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Proven track record in content development and management working across teams and engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
Experience working in a multi-discipline fast paced environment, delivering high quality strategic advice and communications products.
Strong teamwork, flexibility, and adaptability, and ability to successfully navigate complex issues and challenges in a multi-stakeholder, multi-cultural environment.
Awareness of the climate finance architecture and experience of working with the multilateral development banks.
Ability to think strategically and coordinate with high-level stakeholders such as public officials, civil society leaders, and senior management.
Experience drafting complex communications products in accessible ways for a range of audiences.
Have demonstrated ability to learn and adopt new technology quickly and use it effectively.
Have advanced proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, including Excel, Word, and Power Point, and the World Bank's standard technology packages, and familiarity with the Internet and web-based research.
Proven working knowledge and application of social media communications principles and other web 2.0 technologies.
