We are seeking a Board Certified Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep physician with fellowship training in Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep to join our team at AH Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine-Union in Monroe, North Carolina (approximately 35 minutes from Charlotte International Airport).

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to patients with pulmonary, critical care, and sleep disorders. Your expertise and experience will contribute to the success of our practice and the overall well-being of our patients.

Our practice encompasses three outpatient sites and two hospitals, offering a diverse range of services to our patients. We have a strong emphasis on pulmonary pathology and provide a supportive environment for academic practice, with the group being incredibly supportive of individual interests.

The practice environment at AH Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine-Union features a group of six Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep physicians who have established a strong working relationship.
  • Outpatient services are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and inpatient services are available 24/7 at the Union facility. Consultative coverage is provided at the Union West facility.
  • Outpatient services are primarily for adults, with 80% of patients being adults, while inpatient services are primarily for adults, with 20% of patients being adults.
    • AH Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine-Union (Monroe, NC) is affiliated with the American Hospital Association (AH) and is located on the same campus as the AH Union (Monroe, NC).

    • AH Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine-Union West (Stallings, NC) is also affiliated with the AH and is located on the same campus as the AH Union West (Stallings, NC).

Monroe, Stallings, and Waxhaw are all conveniently located within a 25-35 minute drive from Charlotte International Airport. Within two hours, you can reach the mountains, ski resorts, and numerous outdoor activities, including boating, fishing, and hunting, all within easy reach. These areas boast excellent public and private primary schools, as well as numerous top-ranked colleges and universities throughout the greater Charlotte region and the state of North Carolina. Union County is particularly renowned for its highly ranked public primary schools. The area is also conveniently located near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and many popular US beaches. Job Summary

The physician is a patient-centered, system-oriented teammate who manages the care of all patients within their primary practice/clinical setting. The physician leads an interdisciplinary team to perform assigned clinical duties, while displaying the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct as well as acting in the best interest of Atrium Health, supporting our mission, vision and values.

Essential Responsibilities/Functions:
Performs medical history, physical examinations, routine assessments and determines treatment plan for patients.
Documents all patient encounters, records observations, interventions, and actions in a timely and medically appropriate manner on the patient's medical record
Acts as a patient and family advocate for the population served
Participates in continuous quality improvement priorities, service delivery processes and service excellence initiatives
Adheres to access & productivity policies & protocols to ensure that patients' access to convenient care is optimized
Adheres to standards and care protocols to deliver appropriate, innovative and cost-effective care management in-person and virtually
Actively and regularly participates in the assigned meetings/committees

Education, Experience and Certification:

Degree of MD or DO from accredited medical school

Board Eligibility in a clinical discipline is required; Board Certification in a clinical discipline is required within three years of start date/contract effective date; Once obtained, Maintenance of Certification is required
