SAIT's dynamic Marketing team leads the institutional Marketing and Recruitment Plan, manages brand, marketing and recruitment initiatives, and operates key digital marketing channels.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Recruitment, you will lead SAIT's recruitment marketing strategies, campaigns, events and initiatives. You are a skilled recruitment marketing professional who uses research and data to develop strategic and innovative plans to drive student acquisition.
As the Manager, Marketing and Recruitment, you strive for a deep understanding of the programming and priorities of your stakeholders and ensure alignment of recruitment marketing initiatives with SAIT's strategic objectives and your audiences' needs. Your team of recruitment and event marketers and student recruiters develop integrated recruitment marketing strategies and plans which they implement through initiatives such as drip and calling campaigns and in-person, virtual and hybrid events including open houses, information sessions, campus tours and high-school visits.
You have exceptional communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to cultivate strong relationships with various stakeholders including prospective students, teachers and counsellors, parents, alumni, partners, faculty, staff, and suppliers.
Overseeing the work and performance of permanent and temporary team members, your experience of recruiting, developing and managing teams in a unionized environment is both effective and inspiring. As a leader you see yourself as a coach and consultant. You focus on ensuring that your team understands priorities and has the ability to deliver. You have a passion for quality and attention to detail and you diligently manage all aspects of team administration.

The Role
- Recruitment Marketing
- Lead the development of comprehensive recruitment marketing strategies for prospective students and their influencers, using research and data to inform your decisions.
- Strategically manage a CRM system, leveraging its capabilities and data to develop targeted recruitment marketing campaigns, personalized communications, and enhanced event experiences.
- Design and implement a comprehensive recruitment sales funnel, optimizing each stage to streamline the process and enhance prospective student conversion.
- Oversee the tactical implementation of recruitment marketing strategies by leading direct reports, and collaborating with SAIT faculty, business partners, agency partners, and other SAIT team members.
- Analyze and report on recruitment marketing performance and the ROI and ROE of recruitment campaigns, events and initiatives.
- Customer Experience
- Champion a customer-centric approach within the recruitment marketing team, providing training and resources to ensure all staff effectively represent the institution's brand and deliver a positive customer experience across all touchpoints.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure all recruitment communications, events and initiatives provide a consistent and brand-aligned customer experience.
- Monitor and analyze CRM data, customer experience data and feedback from recruitment events and initiatives, and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance prospective student satisfaction.
- Client Services
- Ensure marketing strategies and project plans include stakeholder input and considerations.
- Report back on a regular basis on recruitment marketing performance and plan adjustments.
- Leadership
- Lead and motivate a team, through regular mentoring and coaching.
- Foster a culture of strategic innovation for recruitment marketing.
- Manage and oversee all aspects of team administration including following defined procurement processes and managing supplier quotes, invoices and budgets.
- Manage all aspects of team performance including human resource management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Marketing degree or diploma or commensurate combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of Marketing experience, with 3 years overseeing recruitment marketing campaigns, events and initiatives.
- At least 3 years of leadership/management experience.
- Advanced knowledge of Marketing theory and practices including brand positioning, the marketing mix, omnichannel marketing, customer behaviour and journey mapping, sales funnels, lead acquisition and nurturing, and advertising appeal techniques.
- Demonstrated understanding of how to translate brand values into tangible customer experiences.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using research and data in decision making.
- Demonstrated project management experience, with experience using agile methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM tools/marketing automation platforms and email marketing software is required.
- Superior verbal, written and visual communication skills are required, including the ability to present publicly to large and small audiences on Marketing strategies, trends and our work.
- Working-level skills with the Microsoft Office Suite are required.
- Experience working with virtual meeting software such as Zoom and MS Teams to host events is preferred.
- Experience working with defined procurement processes and large budgets is preferred.
- An understanding of the MarTech landscape and emerging technologies, including howAI and machine learning can be applied to marketing is considered an asset.
- Experience managing staff in a unionized environment, including hiring and performance management, is considered an asset.
