  • Evaluate, examine, analyze, diagnose & treat patients; prescribe medication
  • Coordinate Treatment Team meetings & provide clinical direction to Treatment Team staff in development of Individual Treatment Plans (ITP) for assigned patients; perform mental & physical examinations of patients
  • Administer & monitor psycho-pharmacological, psychotherapeutic & other related treatments for each patient, provide individual & group treatment; monitor the medical condition of each patient & seeks consultation, referral, or transfer as necessary or as directed to maintain the medical well-being of the patient
  • Collaborate with outside psychiatrists and other clinicians to assure coordination of care & continuity to community setting
  • Complete & maintain proper documentation of activities/treatment to assure compliance with Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (TJC), & Medicare, Medicaid, Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services (OhioMHAS) & hospital policies, regulations, & directives
  • Give direction to professional/paraprofessional, nursing & direct care staff in areas related to psychiatric care of patients
This is an hourly position covered by the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 bargaining unit (union) , with a pay range of 15 on the Ohio Health Care SEIU/1199 Pay Range Schedule. Day, afternoon and evening shifts available, weekend and holiday rotation s. This position is located within our Summit Behavioral Healthcare Campus at 1101 Summit Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45237

Qualifications

Certificate to practice medicine per Section 4731.13 of Revised Code; satisfactory completion of residency training program in psychiatry, as approved by the residency review committee of the American Medical Association, the committee on post-graduate education of the American Osteopathic Association or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology & Psychiatry or has been recognized as a psychiatrist by the Ohio State Medical Association or the Ohio Osteopathic Association on the basis of formal training & 5 or more yrs. of medical practice limited to psychiatry per Section 5122.01(E) of Revised Code.
