Technical Business Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a strong technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Scrum Master to engage with Compliance and Sales and Trading Risk teams to expand Trade Surveillance requirements. The ideal candidate will act as both a scrum master and SME, managing agile ceremonies, enforcing agile best practices, and ensuring the successful delivery of various projects. This role requires a deep understanding of Agile methodology, institutional trading, and strong client stakeholder skills. The successful candidate will leverage their technical expertise and knowledge of trading systems to drive projects forward effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate Business Requirements: Partner with the business to translate high-level business requirements into detailed, functional, and testable specifications.
• Scrum Master Role: Act as a scrum master to run agile ceremonies within the squad and establish Agile best practices.
• Feasibility Analysis & Prioritization: Perform feasibility analysis, scope projects, prioritize deliverables, recommend alternative solutions and project strategies, and engage in negotiations.
• Liaison Between Business and Development Teams: Serve as the key liaison between the business unit and the delivery team throughout all phases of development" from product definition to deployment.
• Subject Matter Expert: Act as an SME to the business, addressing system and data questions and providing insights.
• Align Technology and Business Goals: Understand and articulate the technology vision and stratgy, ensuring technology solutions are aligned with business goals and priorities.
• Operational Processes: Define and implement operational processes to enhance project execution.
• Project Planning: Establish high, mid, and micro-level plans, and provide estimates for project teams.
• BDD Validation: Oversee Behavior Driven Development (BDD) validation to streamline QA and UAT processes.
• Industry Trends Awareness: Maintain a strong understanding of industry and enterprise-wide trends to inform decision-making.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or Business/Finance with technical experience.
• Experience: At least 10+ years of experience with software development projects.
• Financial Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial products, including commodities and futures.
• SQL and Data Analysis: Strong proficiency in SQL and data analysis; knowledge of Java, Scala, or Python is preferred.
• Agile Expertise: Extensive understanding of Agile SDLC concepts and best practices.
• Business Requirements Definition: Proven experience in business requirements definition and management (end-to-end), structured analysis, process design, and use case documentation.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaboration: Effective collaborator across IT and business groups, regions, roles, and levels.
• Influence: Ability to influence decisions and mindsets to drive change.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Financial Product Expertise: Additional expertise in financial markets, including derivatives, options, and equities, would be advantageous.
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with additional programming languages (e.g., Java, Scala, Python) is a plus.
• Agile Certifications: Scrum Master certification or other relevant agile certifications are preferred.
