Role: Responsible for the purchase of inventory and non-inventory related requirements. Provides departmental support in achieving expediting requirements and ensures the quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of all procured items.

Role: Responsible for the purchase of inventory and non-inventory related requirements. Provides departmental support in achieving expediting requirements and ensures the quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of all procured items.
What Will You Do?
Main Job Duties:
- Develop and maintain strong value add relationships with suppliers and monitor supplier capacities for assigned commodities to ensure unexpected capacity constraints do not occur
- Conduct frequent meetings with critical suppliers to resolve open issues and visit supplier sites as necessary to maintain business relationships
- Perform suppliers' assessments for new suppliers and ensure supplier scorecards are documented and reviewed with key suppliers on a regular basis to drive supplier corrective actions
- Analyze and manage data from planning, engineering, manufacturing, and product management to support the manufacturing plan
- Review ERP messages on assigned commodities and process and maintain purchase orders in accordance with company standards
- Coordinate deliveries based on vendor lead times and specific manufacturing objectives
- Review changes in requirements and adjust schedules as necessary to meet business objectives and notify appropriate departments of significant delays in supply
- Process all price changes according to policy
- Lead projects including outsourcing, in-sourcing, new sourcing, or alternative sourcing for new or existing supply
- Coordinate returns to suppliers for non-conforming goods and materials
- Work with accounting to resolve invoice discrepancies
- Participate in physical inventory and cycle count programs as needed
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, order policies, risk mitigation and other commodity programs as define
- Update and maintain manufacturing/purchasing data within the ERP system and assist in the implementation of new planning systems as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 3-5 years purchasing experience in Manufacturing is required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of ERP systems is required; experience SAP preferred
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Ability to travel domestically 10-15 %; potentially international on occassion
- Intermediate to Advanced skills with Excel
- Intermediate product, production process and commodity knowledge for the responsible supply segment is required
- Strong communication and analytical skills are required
- Organizational and exceptional negotiating skills are required
- Must be proficient in computer-based spreadsheet and word processing systems, such as Excel, Word, and Access
- Must be highly detail-oriented and be willing to adapt to changing responsibilities as required to achieve departmental and corporate goals
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment is required
