Job Title: Physical Therapist

Shift: 8-hour day shift, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, 5 days a week
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Previous work experience in outpatient, inpatient, or inpatient rehab unit preferred
License: Physical Therapist license in the state of employment or from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
Certifications: Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required
Must-Have: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
Job Description:
- Responsible for providing care to patients with neuromuscular, orthopedic, and other physically-related disorders requiring mobility training, strengthening, modalities, specialized manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education.
- Utilize the rehab process to promote and restore optimal health and well-being of the patient.
- Evaluate patients by completing initial assessments within time standards and apply appropriate diagnostic testing.
- Perform a variety of best practice and evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient's unique rehabilitation needs.
- Establish treatment plans with measurable and attainable goals in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team, including discharge planning.
- Select and implement therapy activities per the plan of care to ensure that patient, family, and therapy goals are met.
- Consult with rehabilitation team members to choose the most appropriate activity or program for individual patients, considering their needs and capabilities.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, and physicians concerning physical medicine and rehabilitation services while respecting confidentiality.
- Document all patient care activities, including evaluations, progress notes, and detailed treatment records per standards of practice and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate the preparation of patient schedules, billing charges, and other reports in accordance with procedures through timely documentation completion.
- Participate in personal, professional, and program development by attending department in-services, meetings, and sharing expertise.
- Assist in training physical therapy and physical therapist assistant students and other hospital personnel.
- Act as a resource for new staff members and co-workers by sharing information and providing education.
- Demonstrate effective time management and prioritize workload, meeting productivity requirements.
- Adapt to rapidly changing technologies, policies, regulations, and staffing through priority setting and flexibility, including floating to other areas or sites as needed.
- Agree to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, to meet patient and department needs.
