Job Description:
- Responsible for initiating, planning, executing, and controlling large complex enterprise projects.
- Organizes work into a manageable plan; secures executive staff approval for project scope, budget, schedule, and plan.
- Assembles the project team, assigns individual responsibilities, and develops the project schedule.
- Controls execution of the project to meet planned business objectives within budgetary and schedule limitations.
- Communicates with senior management or functional area management regarding project status.
- May direct the activities of project managers and project leads to deliver results.
- Evaluates project results against business strategies and objectives.
- Manages mission-critical, complex projects to deliver results within the authorized budget and approved time schedule.
- Develops objective measures for evaluating project effectiveness.
- Capable of managing projects across a broad range of specialties.
- Exercises independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Manages cross-functional aspects of the project to create deliverables within budget and on schedule.
- Creates, implements, and manages project plans, business requirement documents, communication plans, test plans, and other project documents.
- Delegates and manages the tasks of the other functional core team members.
- Provides leadership to clear barriers to team progress, resolve conflicts, and ensure project goals and staff assignments are realistic and achievable.
- Drives teams towards excellence in analysis and decision-making.
- Meets quality standards and the production of expected deliverables during all phases of the project life cycle: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
- Directs the assembly of project teams, assigning responsibilities and identifying appropriate resources to ensure timely project completion.
- Communicates regularly with functional managers, project management steering committee members, executive sponsors, and other project stakeholders to appraise them regarding the status of the project, issues impeding progress, earned value, and recovery plans for off-track items/tasks.
- Maintains project control books and logs.
- Conducts lessons learned sessions and issues closing reports.
