As this role is based out of our Creative Studios in Westlake, Ohio, we will focus on candidates who currently reside in Northeast Ohio.
The Director of Sales Operations is member of the Sales Operations Team and a contributor to the development of sales operations strategy and execution.
This role is responsible for delivering consistent operational execution in assigned chains.
A key to the success will be the ability to influence across all levels and functions at AG, partnering with sales leaders, field management, space planning, and our retailers and other external partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and manage an operations team that supports sales operations in assigned chains.
Lead strategic project-based initiatives and programs within assigned chains to identify areas for process improvement and ensure consistent application of sales strategies and collateral.
Partner closely with Sales Leads in assigned chains in setting sales strategy, policy and progressing towards the sales vision and upgrading organizational capabilities.
Participate in our CPMO to ensure for effective execution of future programs
Identify and train on best practices, streamlining internal handoffs, partner w/FMO and Space Planning to reduce retail Go Backs, getting us to a place of flawless execution on retail programs, revisions, remodels, etc.
Develop organizational capabilities, identify areas for process improvement and drive efficiencies, and ensure consistent application of sales operations processes and strategies.
Represent Sales Operations on business projects that cross functions; influence business decisions and ensure Sales goals and retailer requirements are incorporated.
Partner collaboratively with the Business Units, Field Management, and other functional leaders to deliver business goals and plans while responsibly prioritizing company resources
Participate in setting sales operations strategy, policy and progressing towards the vision and upgrading organizational capabilities
Apply understanding of operations capabilities, the retail environment, sales experience and strategic thinking to the delivery of initiatives and programs
Oversees the creation, design, delivery, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of the sales operations communication tools and resources in assigned chains that deliver effective, consistent and efficient retail execution.
Develop strategy and direct retail execution to ensure trade activities support chain and corporate initiatives, marketing campaigns and brand strategies that will position American Greetings as the preferred social expressions supplier and drive profitable sales growth.

Experience Required:
Required Length & Type of Experience:
7+ years previous experience in a strategic sales/account management role
3+ years in a field management/operations role preferred
3+ years managing a team
Past experience developing Joint Business Plans and marketing plans with the objective of growing a business
Proven track record of delivering on all financial targets
Proven track record of successfully working in a complex organization and demonstrated ability to impact and influence cross-functionally in the organization.
Multi-channel, mass-market experience preferred
Specific experience in a similar complex industry is preferred
