VP, COMMUNICATIONS OVERVIEW:
Elevate is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Communications to lead and enhance our external communication strategies. This senior executive role requires a strategic leader experienced in driving communication initiatives that bolster organizational reputation, ensure consistent messaging, and support business and revenue objectives within the sports and entertainment industry.

COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $225,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in San Francisco, New York City, Charlotte, or Nashville. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

Elevate is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Communications to lead and enhance our external communication strategies. This senior executive role requires a strategic leader experienced in driving communication initiatives that bolster organizational reputation, ensure consistent messaging, and support business and revenue objectives within the sports and entertainment industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Communication Leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with Elevate's mission of being the industry's best sports and entertainment agency.
- Media Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers to enhance Elevate's visibility and reputation in the sports and entertainment sectors.
- Content Development: Oversee the creation of compelling communication materials, including press releases, speeches, and thought leadership content that resonate with our diverse audience.
- Crisis Communication: Lead crisis communication efforts, managing sensitive issues with timely and effective messaging to protect and enhance Elevate's reputation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure unified messaging and strategic alignment across all communication channels, supporting our fan-first strategies.
- Spokesperson Duties: Serve as a spokesperson for Elevate when appropriate, articulating the organization's policies, positions, and initiatives clearly and effectively.
- Budget Management: Oversee departmental budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning to ensure efficient and effective communications operations.
- Best Practices Implementation: Establish communication best practices, tools, and protocols to enhance internal operations and external outreach.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years of senior-level communications experience, preferably within the sports, entertainment, media, or related sectors.
- Media Relationships: Existing relationships in the sports business media (SportsBusiness Journal, Sportico, etc.)
- Strategic Expertise: Proven ability to develop and execute complex communication strategies that drive engagement and support business goals.
- Media Savvy: Demonstrated experience in managing media relations, securing favorable coverage, and mitigating reputational risks.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with experience serving as an organizational spokesperson.
- Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership skills with experience in team development and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Crisis Management: Proficiency in handling crisis communications with discretion and sound judgment.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the sports and entertainment landscape, with the ability to tailor communication strategies accordingly.
