Job Description
Job Title: Cath Lab Technician
Job Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:30)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours weekly
Experience: 2 years minimum experience required, 1 year accepted with previous Cath lab experience (Scrub/Circulate)
License: Valid license required; for DC locations, must have DC license in hand, or pending application. For MD locations, must have a compact license or MD license.
Certifications: AART or RCIS License, ACLS, BLS
Must-Have: Positive references from previous employer
Job Description:
- Perform cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, cardiac ablation, thrombolysis/thrombectomy.
- Accurately monitor and maintain a sterile field as a scrub and circulator.
- Operate specialized equipment such as SWAN-GANZ, IABP, and Rotablade.
- Assist with coil embolization and manage Cerner documentation systems.
- Participate on a rotational basis for weekends and on-call shifts (up to 10 shifts per month).
- Float between Cath Lab and IR as a scrub, circulator, and monitor tech. EP skills are preferred but not required.
- Conduct special procedures including R & LHC, primary PCI, vascular/peripheral angios, EP studies, PPM implants, coronary lithotripsy, coronary microvascular disease diagnostics, biopsies, paras/thoras, port placements, GJ tubes, and nephrostomy tubes.
Additional Information:
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend.
- First-time applicants accepted with positive references.
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions.
- Orientation includes 28 hours, 50% non-billable.
- Modules are completed pre-start, with up to 4 hours billable. Modules are recorded via transcripts.
