Fairchild Media Group is hiring a WWD Senior Commerce Editor to support affiliate marketing content creation, including pitching, writing, and editing style content that ranges from trending product news to insightful product reviews and in-depth shopping guides, as well as assisting the department lead in strategic content planning and cross-team collaborations that drives revenue growth. The ideal candidate should consider themselves to be a creative and ambitious self-starter with their finger on the pulse of emerging shopping and product trends in beauty, fashion, footwear, and home product categories in the retail market and on social media, as well as how these product trends and hot new releases tap into major pop culture moments to drive engagement and product sales.
This critical role in the Fairchild Media Group commerce team requires a highly organized individual with a can-do attitude, an eye for fine details and impeccable time management skills to balance multiple projects and pivot as needed with ease. This person will support the management of both freelance and on-staff writers to produce a diverse output of high-quality, authoritative content with engaging headlines, hands-on product testing, expert-backed service, and excellent SEO optimization that aligns with our editorial calendar and tentpole initiatives. This role reports to the director of commerce and is based in New York.

The typical candidate is hired below midpoint of the range. The total compensation package for this position will also include other elements, a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits including 401(k) eligibility and paid time off benefits.

Responsibilities:
- Write and/or edit 3+ stories daily or 12+ stories weekly, depending on the required content type, with unique, on-brand storytelling that incentivizes our readers to shop, including product roundups, buyer's guides, single product reviews, and sales content across multiple product categories.
- Assist in monitoring and fulfilling traffic and affiliate goals while identifying new growth opportunities for Fairchild Media Group.
- Aid the commerce director in leading the team and supporting editorial staff to execute ambitious commerce franchises and revenue-generating projects.
- Identify and interview credible and unexpected-yet-knowledgeable expert sources in the beauty, fashion, footwear, and home product space to add quality service tips to shopping content.
- Track and report revenue data for sponsored affiliate partnerships.
- Ensure department directives are followed with flawless execution.
- Have a strong knowledge and understanding of social media trends, cult-following products, and innovative product releases embraced by consumers and celebrities alike.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years professional commerce writing experience for a digital media brand or publisher
- Skilled in writing headlines that drive conversions in commerce content
- Proficient in leveraging Pinterest, Instagram, and other social media platforms to drive conversion
- Expertise in SEO optimization of evergreen and timely product news content
- Must be a clean, fast writer and editor that's highly organized and pays strong attention to detail.
- Well-versed in digital and affiliate strategy and analytics
- Experience working with a variety of affiliate networks including Rakuten, Impact Radius, Howl, Linkby, Amazon Associates, and more.
- Adept at pulling data from Looker and Google Analytics
- Confident in using Adobe Photoshop and Canva
- Some management experience preferred
