Summary
The Department of Pediatrics is offering a highly motivated and competent professional the opportunity to serve as a software engineer and program specialist in an administrative office setting with primary responsibilities for developing and maintaining business-support applications, web-based applications, and support and maintenance of corporate websites. The position requires a person able to work well within a team environment and with a willingness to assist a team member when needed.
The successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, be regarded as a team player, have strong and proven organizational skills, and have a personal drive to be their best. Experience in web-based application development preferred, especially ColdFusion. Resourcefulness, creativity, analytical thinking and leveraging of available tools including Microsoft Copilot and/or other AI-assisted agents preferred.

Job Duties
This position will perform analysis of requirements, system design, programming, testing, implementation, problem solving, enhancements, and required maintenance.
50% Application Development/Support:
40% Pediatrics Webmaster:
10% System Administration: The "other duties as assigned" may include light system administration support of the BCM Pedi-IT team.

Job Duties

50% Application Development/Support:
- Assist with web programming for various business applications (ColdFusion, JavaScript, etc.)
- Web page styling and formatting using Bootstrap and basic styling code.
- Compile and post web statistics for Pediatrics.
- Backup software and hardware maintenance for Pediatrics.
- Liaison for Pediatrics lead management to assist with web page maintenance, suggestions and improvements.
- Web maintenance:
- Find and fix bad links.
- Search for obsolete information.
- Add/recommend new information for college publicity.
- Update faculty BIOs.
- Maintain SharePoint.
- Add Self-Help documents and links.
- Answer questions from outside public to Pediatrics webmaster.
40% Pediatrics Webmaster:
- Serve as the primary point of contact and webmaster for the BCM Department of Pediatrics web site(s).
- Communicate regularly with division leaders and content producers to ensure that all division and department sites are accurate, current and relevant.
- Ensure that faculty lists on sites are accurate and current.
- Interface and coordinate with institutional web personnel at BCM and TCH to ensure streamlined and efficient sites with appropriate cross-linking and SEO results.
- Monitor and relay Google Analytics results for all web sites in formats that are useable and informative to decision makers and content providers.
10% System Administration: The "other duties as assigned" may include light system administration support of the BCM Pedi-IT team.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. No experience required with Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Proficiency in ColdFusion, JavaScript, HTML.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL, Database software integration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Communications and writing experience.
