Title: Director, Total Rewards
Lead the development and management of the comprehensive Total Rewards programs, encompassing compensation, insurance, ADA compliance, retirement, and leave policies. Ensure programs are competitive, sustainable, and aligned with organizational goals. Provide strategic guidance to both short- and long-term planning, supporting the mission and vision of the Human Resources Division and advancing the Strategic Plan of DeKalb County School District.
Essential Functions:
Develop and communicate competitive Total Rewards strategies, including compensation, insurance, ADA compliance, leave administration, retirement, and employee wellness, ensuring alignment with labor market trends and organizational goals.
Provide effective leadership and direct supervision to the Total Rewards team through coaching, performance management, and development.
Partner with district leaders to ensure all new employees receive accurate and consistent information that develops and reinforces the district's mission, vision, and values during the onboarding process.
Partner with stakeholders to enhance employee retention and attraction efforts.
Oversee compensation reviews, ensuring clear communication, efficient execution, and seamless implementation of initiatives.
Implement FMLA, ADA compliance, and leave procedures in accordance with district policies and legal requirements.
Design and execute wellness and work-life balance programs to foster a positive organizational culture, enhance employee engagement, support recruiting efforts, and improve productivity.
Manage and resolve complex disputes and high-level issues that exceed routine matters within the Total Rewards team, while overseeing related project work and applying advanced problem-solving strategies.
Oversee programs, training, and counseling sessions related to retirement systems (e.g., TRS, PSERS) and benefit plans (403b, 457).
Design and implement efficient compensation initiatives, including employee verification of employment history, ensuring compliance with district retention guidelines.
Manage activities related to the Georgia Department of Labor, including claims processing, error resolution, appeals, and benefit oversight.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A Bachelor's degree in a closely related field is required, with a focus on fostering continuous development and progression in workflow and operational efficiency.
Candidate must obtain the GAPSC Support Personnel License within three (3) months of hire.
