SUMMARY

Edge Autonomy is seeking a Configuration Manager to lead the development and enhancement of our Configuration Management program. This pivotal role will focus on building, implementing, and refining processes in compliance with EIA 649 and or CM 2 standards. The Configuration Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, to control changes in both prototype and manufacturing environments. This hands-on position will require a proactive approach to managing customer part numbering orders and supporting Product Data Management (PDM) and related workflows.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assigned other duties.
  • Developing and implementing best practices for configuration management across the organization.
  • Collaborating with engineers and stakeholders to ensure effective adoption of configuration management processes.
  • Work onsite at our San Luis Obispo, California
  • Leading initiatives to enhance configuration control and documentation practices.
  • Work with engineers developing new products and changes to ensure implementation follows CM best practices
  • Work with production to understand impacts of changes, such that released changes are clearly understood and trackable
  • Generates serialization and marking plans to support internal and customer efforts
  • Energetically engages with engineering and management to find creative implementations of rigorous CM while minimizing burden through tools and other support.
  • Generate configuration management plans for internal process and customer deliverables
  • A dynamic leader who can drive improvements and foster collaboration among teams to ensure the success of our Configuration Management program


QUALIFICATIONS

The following are non-exhaustive qualifications for the position:
  • B.S. in technical or related field, or qualifying industry experience.
  • At least 6 years working as a configuration analyst supporting both production and design engineering (prototype work and similar)
  • Significant experience supporting or managing design/drawing release and Engineering Changes
  • Deep understanding of change and version control
  • Design/product/change release management experience
  • Process and workflow documentation expertise
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 2 years working as a configuration analyst on military/defense products delivering to government contracts
  • Experience working with, and ideally deployment or improvement of, ERP systems, & PLM Systems
