Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrate the ability to model, deliver, and craft rich student-centered learning experiences around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math with an emphasis on the ability to support students in the area of mathematics
- Demonstrate the ability to create and implement strategies for weaving STEAM experiences into multi-disciplinary curricula from grades 5 through 8
- Work in partnership with teachers & staff, modeling consistent, effective teaching with technology, engagement, lesson plan design, use of technology, STEAM, and online tools
- Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of the connection between mathematics, computer science, and other fields of study
- Understand and be able to design, develop, assess, and manage STEAM learning experiences
- Empowers students as creators as they create artifacts of their learning that engage them in critical thinking, collaboration, and authentic real-world problem-solving
- Leverages collaborative spaces by promoting inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and community
- Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
- Participates in setting the school district's vision and strategic plan for digital learning and fosters a culture of collaboration and innovation to empower teachers and learners
Certification:
- NYS Mathematics Extension 5 - 9 (OR NYS Gr 1 - 6 AND NYS Gr. 7 - 12 Mathematics Certification)
