About Us
We are a company builder called Prufrock Ventures. Our founding team has built and sold over a dozen businesses, taking ideas from PPT to customers to acquisition multiple times. Prior to our exits, we've raised financing from Lightspeed, Khosla, GGV and other top venture funds. Many of us are ex-Amazon. At Prufrock Ventures, we've built multiple companies over the last few years that have reached scale with co-investment partners including Sequoia, A16Z, Drive, Village Global and a dozen other tier 1 venture funds. We are in the business of launching new products and services at scale. Ours is a nuclear startup team in a box - engineering, product design, business development, brand and growth. We are seeking a superstar head of growth / marketing to support us in developing our next cohort of new products from zero to one.
About You and the Role
You are a great fit if you are one of those deeply curious people who likes to build new things and is continuously asking 'what if' - What if this existed? What if I tried this? You have a track record of going zero to one and launching successful new products where your efforts directly resulted in the first 10, 50, 1,000 customers. You can build and navigate an acquisition strategy with Google, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit and LinkedIn. But this is table stakes for you. You also are expert at identifying new channels, creatively engaging with those channels and using data to drive strategy and positioning. And you can easily play outside your role as well, creating the scrappy designs or engaging content that can hook prospective customers. Bonus points if you have experience that spans B2C and B2B. And bonus if you have both in-house and agency experience, where you can evidence going deep into one product and also having worked simultaneously across multiple products as part of an agency. You'll be able to provide lots of evidence working with high performing engineering, design and product folks. You might even have founded your own startup.
As the Product Growth Lead, you'll be a driving force behind growth marketing and product growth initiatives for new ventures. You'll develop, implement, track and optimize growth campaigns across multiple products and platforms. You'll own all of our growth channels and measure their success. You will be a critical resource and work closely with exceptional founding teams. You will be both hands on in execution and strategy, and will build a network of contractors who can augment execution when needed.

Core Requirements
- Must be a scrappy, self-starting, forward-thinking growth strategist and executor
- Passion for building exceptional early stage brands, i.e. diving deep with founders of our companies to support them in crafting the language and visual identity to connect product and business to customers
- Proven chops building and scaling the infrastructure for all growth levers including viral loops, SEO/SEM, email, social media and/or display advertising campaigns, as well as landing website and mobile app conversion.
- Expertise with marketing levers such as CRO, SEO, website analytics, email, and paid programs and with marketing attribution.
- Fluency working with marketing platforms, such as Heap, Hubspot, Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, social platforms, and BI tools
- Excellent problem solving skills and obsessed with data.
- Lots of early stage startup experience
- Highly curious and continuously exploring new ideas across a variety of industries, technologies, etc.
- World-class communicator with a talent for articulating how data decisions drive your strategy
- Open to various work locations and situations, but preference for candidates in the Bay Area or ability to travel to Bay Area regularly
