Job Summary
The Head of ERISA Compliance will lead our compliance efforts related to retirement plans covered by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and non-ERISA plans. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our organization adheres to all ERISA regulations and guidelines, particularly as it relates to the provision of Third Party Administration (TPA) Services which includes compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, controlled groups and affiliated service groups consultation, and plan document services, while also providing strategic direction and oversight for overall compliance programs.

Compensation Information
The average salary for this position is expected to be between $131,000 and $170,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis. Job Summary

Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain ERISA compliance policies and procedures.
- Monitor changes in ERISA regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to internal teams regarding ERISA compliance matters, with specific focus on Third Party Administration (TPA) Services which includes compliance testing, Form 5500 preparation, and plan document services.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with ERISA requirements.
- Collaborate with legal team to address compliance issues and implement best practices.
- Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and the board of directors.
- Lead training sessions for staff on ERISA compliance topics and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding ERISA compliance inquiries.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, law, business administration, or a related field; J.D. or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in ERISA compliance and/or employee benefits.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience advising on fiduciary responsibilities and plan governance.
- Experience advising compliance testing and plan administration topics.
- Experience with IRS and DOL correction programs (EPCRS, VCP, DFVCP).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Proven leadership skills and experience managing a compliance team.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
