Job Description

We are the movers of the world and the makers of the future. We get up every day, roll up our sleeves and build a better world -- together. At Ford, we're all a part of something bigger than ourselves. Are you ready to change the way the world moves?

Launched in 2023, Integrated Services creates and markets new customer experiences by integrating hardware, software and services across Ford Blue, Model e and Ford Pro. These products and services allow Ford's retail and commercial customers to customize their vehicles like never before with OTA (over-the-air)-driven experiences that grow better over time. Ford is developing leadership at the forefront of connected, digital platforms that will revolutionize every aspect of how vehicles function, the way people interact with them, and the value those vehicles provide.

In this position...

At Ford, every connected vehicle is an opportunity to help someone keep moving. It's the service technician who depends on their truck, the fleet operator balancing uptime and costs, the family that needs a reliable ride. Uptime is about people, not just vehicles.

We are looking for a Product Manager - Vehicle Health & Insights to build trustworthy, high-quality insights that keep our customers on the road. Millions of vehicle health messages stream through our systems every day, but data alone doesn't solve problems-actionable insights do.

The Sr. Product Manager - Vehicle Health & Insights role is about ensuring what we surface is real, reliable, and built to serve the customer's needs. They are responsible for driving product success through its lifespan. You don't need to build models, but you must know how to evaluate, refine, and validate insights before they reach the customer. The right candidate has shipped at least 10 data-driven products and can walk us through how they iterated, validated, and improved their insights over time.

Responsibilities

What you'll do...

Define & Deliver Actionable Vehicle Health Insights
  • Own the development, validation, and refinement of vehicle health insights that help customers make better service decisions.
  • Ensure insights are based on benchmarked vehicle health data-defining what's normal, what's an anomaly, and what requires action.

Benchmarking & Data Quality Leadership
  • Establish statistical benchmarks using Z-scores, modified Z-scores, and anomaly detection methods to define true vehicle health trends.
  • Set ground truth validation methods that ensure every insight reflects real-world vehicle behavior.

Define & Enforce Data Quality Standards
  • Set false positive and false negative thresholds to ensure insights don't create unnecessary service visits or missed failures.
  • Define confidence thresholds for actionability, ensuring customers trust the insights we provide.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Insight Refinement
  • Partner with engineering and data teams to refine vehicle health signals and ensure real-world accuracy.
  • Work with service, fleet, and dealership teams to ensure insights translate into real customer action

Establish Trust & Continuous Improvement in Vehicle Health Data
  • Define litmus tests for insight quality-knowing when a signal is ready to deploy or needs refinement.
  • Create feedback loops with service teams and fleet managers to measure how well insights are predicting real-world outcomes.

Technical & Decision-Making
  • Benchmarking & Statistical Analysis: Ability to apply Z-score methods and confidence intervals to establish normal vs. abnormal behavior.
  • Error Rate Awareness: Understand how false positives and false negatives impact customers, service teams, and business operations.
  • Ground Truth & Insight Validation: Know how to validate a signal before deploying it as an insight.

Qualifications

You'll have...
  • 6+ years in technical product management, vehicle health, telematics, or data-driven insights.
  • Has shipped at least 10 data-driven products and can clearly explain how they iterated, validated, and refined insight quality.
  • Understands data validation concepts like benchmarking, confidence scoring, and ground truth verification.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field.
  • SQL for Data Validation: Ability to query vehicle datasets, check distributions, and validate assumptions.

Even better, you may have...
  • Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics preferred.
  • Strong ability to write product specifications.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
