Qorvo is seeking to hire an APPLICATIONS ENGINEER to strengthen the company's Ultra-WideBand (UWB) module development, technical sales and customer support team.
The primary goal of this role is to assist Qorvo customers and prospective customers in applying Qorvo's UWB wireless technology to their particular end-application needs.

Qorvo is seeking to hire an APPLICATIONS ENGINEER to strengthen the company's Ultra-WideBand (UWB) module development, technical sales and customer support team.
The primary goal of this role is to assist Qorvo customers and prospective customers in applying Qorvo's UWB wireless technology to their particular end-application needs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- This is a broadly-scoped role covering hardware, software, integration and test on the one hand and customer interaction on the other
- Presenting Qorvo's UWB technology to customers, assessing customers technical requirements and proposing appropriate system architecture options
- Design & debug of application-specific hardware platforms using Qorvo technology as both generic reference designs and specifically for individual customers
- Assisting customers in the design of their Qorvo-based hardware including assisting them in making the most appropriate trade-offs to meet their system needs
- Reviewing customer schematics and PCB layouts
- Reproducing and solving technical issues seen on customer platforms in the laboratory
- Producing technical documentation to the highest standards to drive customer understanding of Qorvo technology and the optimum ways in which to use it in particular applications
- Design & debug of application-specific software using Qorvo technology as both generic reference designs and specifically for individual customers including the porting of existing firmware to new or customer-selected microprocessors
- Develop training materials and closely collaborate with FAE teams and field sales teams
- Support sales/marketing/FAE on Tier1 customer design in/win engagements
- Help define and deliver next generation solutions that meet emerging market needs for location, connectivity and security.
- Work closely with the Sales and Marketing team, S/W and H/W Teams to deliver production ready solutions
- Support design, system engineering and product marketing on new product definition
- Some travel may be required for interaction with design centers, customers, and partners
Requirements:
- Minimum BS in Engineering; EE or CS expected
- Technical understanding of wireless protocols (6LowPAN, ZigBee, Thread etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of development and support of MCUs (STM, Nordic) and associated peripheral drivers (USB, SPI, I2C, UART etc).
- C/C++ required and familiar with embedded development using GCC/Eclipse or other IDE's is a plus
- Software porting and application performance optimization is a plus.

- Experience of hardware development including schematic capture, PCB layout and all steps through to hardware debug and product release desired.
- Operating knowledge of standard RF test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyser, Network Analyzer, Signal Generator, Power Meter, etc.) is necessary.
- RF experience is highly desirable since many of the application challenges with Qorvo's technology involve RF-related issues including PCB layout & optimization, antenna selection and filtering at frequencies up to 10GHz
- A good knowledge of hardware systems generally, including layout of switched-mode power supplies, high-speed processor interfaces, electromagnetic interference, etc.
- Familiarity with regulatory bodies such as ETSI and FCC a bonus
- Experience with automated test equipment set-ups and scripting (Python, LabVIEW, etc.) is a plus.
