Overview
The UF Health Patient Flow Center Medical Director plays a critical leadership role, in a dyad relationship with the PFC Administrative Director, in overseeing all patient flow across all UF Health hospital locations. This role ensures the coordination of patient transfers, admissions, and timely discharges, optimizing resource utilization, and improving the overall efficiency of the healthcare system. The PFCMD works closely with administrative, clinical, and operational leaders to implement strategies that align with UF Health's mission and strategic goals, focusing on enhancing patient care, reducing bottlenecks, and promoting system-wide collaboration.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with active board certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of healthcare leadership experience, preferably within a patient flow or hospital operations setting.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and leadership environment, including change management.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance (e.g., EMTALA) and patient flow best practices.
- Familiarity with quality improvement processes and data-driven decision-making.
- Understanding and use of the EPIC EMR for patient review and transfer (e.g., Grand Central Station).
- Leadership in a large patient flow center is preferred although not required.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
- Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a non-frequent driver
