This position is full-time with immediate availability. Option to work remotely in the NW region

In this key role, you apply the principles of electricity, power generation, electrical distribution, lighting, and sustainable power generation to assess and design systems working directly with other team members of Akana to meet our client's project requirements.

What You'll Do:
Assest or lead teams in building and systems commissioning
Perform design reviews for constructability, maintainability, commissionability, reliability, and efficiency of design
Conduct site visits to observe installation is in accordance with the approved design and to industry expected standards
Develop functional performance test (FPT) to facilitate testing of systems both independently and as integrated systems
Provide written reports throughout the commissioning process, and upon completion of the project
Assest/perform energy audits, including energy calculations, data analysis, energy conservation measure (ECM) development, with focus on mechanical systems and equipment, complete modeling of selected ECMs, assest in development of implementation cost estimates.

Requirements

Minimum Required Key Qualifications:
Professional Engineer Registration required
Electrical building or utility power distribution and lighting experience
Minimum 10+ years' experience
Expertise in project management; primarily electrical in nature is preferred
Demonstrated CAD and 3D skills, Revit or MicroStation a plus
Competence in the use of electrical engineering software (SKM or similar software to perform arc flash and coordination studies)
Ability to solve problems and troubleshoot as needed
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Low and medium voltage experience preferred (controls experience desired)
Knowledge of motors and power generation
Knowledgeable in best practices regarding QC preferred
Lighting design experience a plus
Renewable energy design experience is highly desired
