The Network Infrastructure (NI) Sales organization provides a common interface to customers including account and relationship management, acting as the voice of the customer internally and creating demand across our business groups. While bringing deep understanding of local markets for our customer, the NI Sales organization ensures strong alignment between sales and delivery teams.
You will be part of the Sales Engineering team and will partner with Account Executives in winning new strategic IP and Optical Networking initiatives as well as maximizing existing business. You will act as a consultant, architect, advisor and an advocate on behalf of our customers to drive sales and technical strategy.
Responsibilities

You will be part of the Sales Engineering team and will partner with Account Executives in winning new strategic IP and Optical Networking initiatives as well as maximizing existing business. You will act as a consultant, architect, advisor and an advocate on behalf of our customers to drive sales and technical strategy.
Responsibilities
The candidate will utilize their excellent interpersonal and technical consultation skills to build rewarding relationships with customers and reach technical closure on new business for Nokia.
As part of our team, you will:
- Lead the customer technical engagement and be the primary interface for all pre-sales engagements.
- Translate customer business and technical requirements and drive solution and network design for Nokia's products.
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with the customer, becoming a trusted advisor, positions Nokia as a primary thought leader, uncovers new opportunities.
- Create tailored customer presentations, demos and lead proof of concept activities showcasing Nokia's network portfolio, vision. Execute on the technical aspects of account strategy through live and virtual presentations.
- Take a leadership role in the engineering effort required in our customers' labs to create and execute network designs, network element configurations, equipment certification and test plans.
Qualifications
You must have:
- 3+ years working in a telecommunications carrier, equipment vendor, system integrator or large enterprise environment with XGS-PON, IP/MPLS, HFC DOCSIS, Optical Transport, Optical LAN, SDN or Cloud technologies.
- Exemplary customer communication skills. Ability to 'white-board' technical solutions and facilitate architecture discussions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related major.
It would be nice if you also had:
- Experience working in a customer facing environment (pre-sales, consulting, delivery)
- Knowledge of cloud computing, Software Defined Networking (SDN) and Cloud-native Network Functions (CNF) technologies to drive network agility and operational efficiencies.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift, Openstack, NFV, DevOPS, CI/CD and related technologies.
- Working knowledge of IP routing and OSS protocols: Experience with one of OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS, IP VPN, VLL/VPLS, Segment Routing, HTTP SOAP, JMS, REST, KAFKA, NC/Yang.
- Knowledge of Nokia IP and Optical portfolio
- Demonstrated experience designing and/or operating Data Center Fabric Networks
- Deep understanding of underlay and overlay networking concepts, especially BGP and EVPN/VXLAN
- Critical thinking and analytical skills exemplifying creative problem solving
- Ability to translate customer requirements into viable and cost-effective product-based solutions
