Job Title: Radiation Therapist
Job Specialty: Acute Care - Radiation
Job Duration: 9 months
Shift: 8-hour Day Shift (08:00-17:00 with 1-hour lunch)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
Experience: Experience with TrueBeam
License: Texas Department of State Health Services (Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist)
Certifications: ARRT in Therapy RT(T), BLS
Must-Have: Associate Degree Required; Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Preferred
Job Description:
- Responsible for daily treatment on patients with ionizing radiation under the direction of the radiation oncologist.
- Work collaboratively with the radiation oncologist and physics personnel to perform simulation and treatment calculations.
- Ensure the daily warm-up and quality assurance of the treatment machine and C.T. simulator.
- Provide education and information to patients and their family members about the processes involved in the planning and delivery of radiation treatment to help overcome fears and myths regarding treatment.
- Ensure that accurate and relevant data is communicated to therapists, radiation oncologists, and physicists responsible for dose calculations of the treatment.
- Follow standard treatment protocols diligently.
- Ensure that all processes are signed off by the radiation oncologist, including Isodose plans, calculations, laboratory and radiology results, dictations such as on-treatment visits, consultations, end of treatment, and interval notes.

- C.T. Simulator
- ADAC Treatment Planning System
- VARIS System
