Senior Financial Analyst III - Corporate Finance

Job Description:
This position is responsible for managing a set of finance activities in support of corporate clients as well as providing cross functional support to the overall financial management of the American Red Cross. The candidate must be able to perform assigned tasks independently and work in a team environment. The position location is Washington DC. No relocation available.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
o Support the development of budgets and forecasts for the Corporate units as well as specific departments/functions and provide guidance on finance related matters to operational staff.
o Produce periodic financial & ad-hoc reports and monitor key drivers of performance for corporate client decision support and general business support
o Design, create and maintain financial models for forecasting including rate volume analysis to identify patterns and monitor trends and sensitivity analysis to identify ranges of possible results and risks
o Gather & analyze financial information, perform detailed general ledger research and prepare variance analyses and recommendations for financial plans
o Review monthly results, prepare & upload forecasts for assigned areas, and update consolidated files
o Assist with month-end and year-end activity by reviewing transactions and preparing journal entries in compliance with GAAP, including but not limited to determining when accruals are required
o Compare purchase requisitions to budget and review account coding & approvals on requisition requests in Procure to Pay system.
o Provide analytical support for enterprise-wide initiatives and improvement projects and support the development, implementation and maintenance of financial policies, procedures and systems.
o Participate in cost savings validations of Red Cross supplier contracts in partnership with Supply Chain Management.
o Lead and support project teams as required.
o Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
At least 5 years of experience in the areas of finance planning & analysis including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis; along with accounting including month-end close and accruals within a large organization (annual revenue of BR+ Billion preferred) with a successful track record. Experience as Senior Financial Analyst Preferred.
Highly proficient in creating and designing financial models using Excel; other Excel skills must include pivot tables, conditional formatting, Vlookups, filters and charts
Proficient in Power Point and other Microsoft Office products, Office 365, Sharepoint and Skype
Highly proficient in creating, designing and building queries and reports in Hyperion and trouble shooting and resolving issues
Experience using large scale financial systems including Oracle Consolidated Financial System (CFS), Business Objects/Webi, Ariba and Concur preferred.

Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time.

If the candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, then the maximum hourly pay rate to the temporary Senior Financial Analyst would be BR. If the candidate has 2-5 years of relevant experience, then the max pay rate would be BR per hour since the lower level of experience would mean that I would need to spend more time training them or covering more of the work myself.

All candidates must be in the DC Metro Area.
