This role is 100% on-site in Washington, DC.

Job Description:

Blake Willson Group is seeking an experienced Manager to provide program management, audit, and financial expertise in support of federal agency operations. This role focuses on Obligations Management, Testing, and Analysis, requiring a strong background in financial management, audit readiness, internal controls, and the management of unliquidated obligations (ULOs). The selected candidate will serve as the primary point of contact (POC) for Government leads, ensuring the accurate tracking, reconciliation, and resolution of obligations while enhancing financial accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the main POC for Government leads, facilitating communication and project oversight
  • Provide expertise in program management to recover and reuse funding, liquidate aging obligations, and enhance the accuracy of obligation balances.
  • Assist in improving the accuracy, completeness, and validity of unfilled customer order transactions.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal controls over budgetary resource management to remediate internal control weaknesses and gaps.
  • Facilitate and provide support for internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with federal financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist in resolving audit deficiencies and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Review, update, and document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance process efficiency.
  • Provide program management assistance for Mission Action Plans, coordinating communications, and supporting change management initiatives.

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • 5+ years of experience supporting federal government agencies.
  • 2+ years of experience leading projects and directly engaging with Contracting Officers and CORs.
  • 2+ years of experience auditing federal agency financial statements or performing audit readiness work within the Department of Homeland Security as a government employee or contractor.

Desired Skills:
  • CPA and/or CGFM Preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze complex financial data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
