Job Summary

Jumpstart your career as a gas construction liaison! This hybrid role requires MS Office skills and onsite work Tuesday - Thursday, collaborating with NiSource Construction experts on Major P rojects.

The successful candidate will be proficient using MS office tools ( able to navigate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc ) . This not a hands-on construction position/not a field role.

Manage and execute the activities associated with construction in accordance with all applicable requirements, ensuring safe, reliable service to customers in an efficient, economical manner. Facilitates training modules between engineering and construction to improve project planning and cost estimating. Coordinates with construction Superintendents, Manager and scheduling leaders to ensure cost-effective construction.

All internal/external customer-responsive construction support.
Collaboration among engineering, technical services, and construction on project.
Completed construction projects which meet customer expectations and budget requirements.
Strategic, effective counseling for company vs. contract scenarios.
Positive relationships with external municipalities and local authorities.
Develops a strong working knowledge of current construction contract language, including Service Agreement.

Essential Functions

  • Ensures the tracking of major projects construction projects


  • Assists construction Superintendents and Manager with time management and in the preparation of documentation (i.e., invoices, close out job orders packets, WMS Docs)


  • Assists in establishing and monitoring contractor performance metrics


  • At the direction of local leadership, attend and participate in calls and reviews for projects and support internal and external audits.


  • Actively interact with Construction Superintendents, Engineers, PMs, Schedulers and Cost Techs to ensure contractor performance established metrics and policies/procedures.


  • Assist the team with i mplement ing best practices while driving functional consistency, process standardization and operational excellence. Provide Subject Matter Representative guidance when required .


  • Supports and facilitates change management for Gas Transmission construction.


  • Identify and develop areas of opportunities to improve construction Superintendent, manager and con around field tasks & processes.


  • Effectively use technology, tools, and planning techniques to improve process results while supporting a project management and planning culture.


  • Must have the ability to work on or travel to projects within NiSource footprint (10% travel)


  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships built on transparency and trust


  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications For Position

  • High School Diploma Or equivalent


  • Strong w orking knowledge of MS Office ( Excel, Powe r P oint, Word, Projects, Outlook, etc.)


  • Strong knowledge of policies, procedures, and standards pertaining to Gas construction.


  • DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State Upon Hire


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of gas operations including gas flow, construction and contracts


  • Familiarity with NiDocs a plus


  • Working knowledge of operations support systems, i.e. Maximo, WMS docs, GIS, SAP/Salesforce etc.

Salary Range*:
$79,800.00 - $119,600.00

*The salary offered to a candidate is based on several factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills, job-related knowledge, and relevant experience , as well as internal pay equity .
