RTX BBN Technologies solves challenging problems of high importance to our customers in the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and Industry by rapidly prototyping systems for sensing complex physical phenomena, correlating them to events of interest, and producing high-value, actionable information from the sensed data. The team specializes in delivering networked sensor system solutions by leveraging a strong understanding of the underlying physics, high-fidelity modeling and simulation of complex signatures and propagation phenomenology, deep expertise in signal processing, proven capabilities in system development, and mature tools to enable rapid design cycles from theory to demonstration. The team also develops Electronic Warfare (EW) systems and solutions by leveraging extensive knowledge of various sensing systems. BBN is currently seeking a Senior Engineer, EW and Signal Processing, with experience in several of the following areas to join our team in Arlington, VA:

The salary range for this role is 90,000 USD - 182,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

- Statistical signal processing
- Adaptive signal processing
- RF propagation modeling
- Sensing
- Physical-layer communications
What You Will Do
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement innovative algorithms and techniques for RF Sensing and EW systems.
- Conduct rapid prototyping of software solutions using MATLAB, Python, and C/C++.
- Perform signal processing and analysis to support mission systems.
- Contribute to radar EP and ESM research and capability development.
- Apply software engineering practices to integrate research outputs into operational tools and systems.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to solve challenging problems and deliver actionable results.
- Participate in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze data, test new capabilities, and perform demonstrations.
- Overnight travel required for certain projects.
Qualifications you Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or physics with 5+ years of experience. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and/or C/C++.
- Solid foundation in RF signal processing and algorithm development.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and apply complex technical concepts.
- Execute responsibilities with minimal review or supervision.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- US citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Active security clearance is a plus.
Qualifications We Prefer - Familiar with all, Expert in some
- Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
- Experience working on technical teams on advanced R&D programs (e.g., DARPA, IARPA, AFRL, ONR research projects).
- Significant experience implementing research-grade algorithms and applying these to data collected from real sensors or radios.
- Experience conducting research and publishing findings.
- Advanced degree preferred.
