Director of Technology

The Rockland Public Schools is seeking an experienced professional to join our administrative team to provide leadership and assume management responsibility for the direction, coordination, integration and implementation of technology for the Rockland Public Schools. The Director of Technology will be responsible for planning, purchasing, installing and maintaining the physical technology of the district. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities that range from strategic and long-range planning to the implementation of system-wide technology solutions and individual training and support. Responsibilities: 1. Supervises assigned technology staff for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting operational requirements. 2. Directs the installation of technology systems and tools (e.g. hardware, software, systems, intercoms, alarms, surveillance cameras, software applications, network) to ensure that systems are functioning properly. 3. Manages procurement, inventory, and surplus of technology equipment, systems and related services to ensure that all technology purchases are consistent with the district technology objectives and that equipment is properly inventoried or surpluses consistent with local and state regulations. 4. In cooperation with Assistant Superintendent and guided by the district's Strategic Plan, develops and implements a comprehensive, dynamic long-range technology plan for the district.
