The Pipeline Control Supervisor is recognized as a leader in our pipeline control operations and will work closely with leads and controllers to manage our pipeline system, ensuring consistency with our short and long-term operating goals. This role will also develop and implement standards, processes and procedures to safely monitor and control our assets and operations, while participating in industry events to influence outcomes and share standard practices. As a Pipeline Control Supervisor, you'll serve as a role model for safe operations, provide a visible leadership presence, train and develop others and hold all team members accountable for safety.

A Day in the Life:

This is an ambitious and exciting Central Services role that supports all Williams regulated/non-regulated assets and leads a team of Pipeline Controllers to ensure the safe, remote operation of all our gathering, processing, and transmission assets. This role is also responsible for scheduling a 24/7 operation to ensure a qualified person is always available to be on the consoles. You may fill in and assist others, such as the Pipeline Control Manager and Lead Controllers as the need arises.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Coordinates workforce planning and scheduling for 24/7 operations in pipeline control rooms
  • Ensures each pipeline controller/operator has passed qualifications; responsible for coaching and conducting career development activities with controllers
  • Holds team accountable for performing all work in accordance with requirements, standards, policies, procedures and processes
  • Develops detailed response procedures and collaborates with business partners to improve control room efficiency; ensures business continuity of running the pipeline
  • Supervises emergency preparedness and ensures compliance with control room management and all regulations
  • Collaborates with others to maintain the integrity of SCADA data and associated IT systems; works with field operations to ensure safe, reliable systems
  • Creates and maintains a physical control room environment that addresses human factor issues
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in pipeline/gas control room, pipeline operations, or relevant industry
  • Preferred: Some college/Associate's degree; a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in pipeline/gas control room, pipeline operations, or relevant industry

Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:
  • Supervises and ensures staffing for 24/7 operation using the Modified Dupont shift schedule

Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal/organizational skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and PC skills
  • Broad knowledge of Pipeline Control operations
  • Strong project management skills
  • Preferred: Experience leading an operations team
