Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $47.00 - $58.00/hr.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead role in directing, planning, organizing, and integrating multiple assignments involving diverse groups and personnel.
- Provide lead technical responsibility for large complex projects or complete systems.
- Lead integrated product teams composed of other cross-functional professional employees in the execution of engineering functions.
- Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of engineering processes, methods, and products.
- Develop product design descriptions, requirements, and system test documentation, safety analysis reports, and technical analyses.
- Define and analyze technical requirements for a broad range of engineering tasks of increased complexity.
- Develop engineering designs, implement architecture configuration specifications, and enable modeling, activity diagrams, and simulation use cases.
- Participate in design reviews and technical interchange meetings to assess and guide development activities performed by development contractors.
- Conduct and support internal and customer design reviews.
- Lead the design and development of a system data architecture compatible with national and international protocols including NMEA standards and NATO STANAG RADAR and ELINT data.
- Generate, modify, and upgrade mathematical models to predict design using commercial and proprietary simulation tools.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution to meet design requirements.
- Manage requirements verification and traceability throughout design, development, and testing phases.
- Develop requirements flow down, verification methodologies, calibration plans, CONOPS, ICDs, and test plans.
- Perform technical review and assessment of concepts, systems, technologies, designs, architectures, interfaces, and operations for Aerostat Systems.
- Support production, testing, and field operations to improve designs.
- Conduct testing, develop prototypes, and verify/validate system and component performance to specifications.
- Assist in the preparation of major complex written documentation including engineering drawings, engineering standards, technical proposals, and technical manuals.
- Create briefings and reports presenting analysis, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
- Provide technical input for Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for proposals.
- Travel up to 20%.
- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, aerospace, or electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of relevant systems engineering experience; or Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant systems engineering experience.
- Broad understanding of airborne and ground systems, hardware, software, operations, and their interdependence.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of technical plans, drawings, and models.
- Ability to apply innovative approaches to designing, integrating, testing, and producing complex engineering systems.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Experience with CAD, simulation, and modeling software.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical drawing standards.
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Experience with systems engineering and integration applied to DoD airborne and ground systems.
- Experience with development and production programs through the installation and deployment of assets to customers.
- System modeling & simulation and/or system performance analysis.
- Test engineering experience, preferably in lighter-than-air systems.
- System Identification experience.
- Familiarity with MatLab and Control system performance and stability analysis.
- Experience developing for embedded systems.
- Experience working in an interdisciplinary team and/or international team environment.
- Proficiency with Version Control and Requirements Tools.
- Understanding of Cost Account Management to support program leadership on estimating work completed and work remaining.
- Familiarity with tethered airborne systems and payloads.
