role and responsabilities :
- Plan the engineering and certification of new aircraft cabin modification projects involving Sales, Operations, Procurement, Production and the client;
- Determine, structure and coordinate project deliverables and ensure their completion with the engineering team;
- Lead project execution within the engineering team, including:
- Design, including drawings, 3D modelling and design reviews;
- Design validation (demonstrations of compliance) including relevant analysis, prototypes, tests, and reporting;
- Certification from the appropriate authority;
- Etc.
- Verify, approve, communicate and follow up on the technical documents of a project such as engineering instructions, drawings, test plans, reports, etc.
- Work in collaboration with the different areas of expertise (e.g. flammability, stress analysis, avionics) to cover all the criteria required for the certification of a project;
- Liaise with operations to prioritize deliverables and answer questions that may arise during projects;
- Implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure on time, high quality execution;
- Assume complete responsibility for the engineering projects entrusted to him/her;
- Assist the sales and customer service departments concerning engineering related requests;
- Participate in the continuous improvement initiatives of the Engineering Department;
- Other tasks assigned by the immediate superior.
requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or aerospace engineering;
- PMP certification, an asset;
- Member of the Ordre des Ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ), an asset;
- Five (5) years of relevant experience in a similar position;
- Fluency in French and English (spoken and written);
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and ability to adapt to different computer software;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
- Initiative, resourcefulness and professional rigor;
- Good team spirit and positive attitude;
- Knowledge of the certification process and aviation standards (FAA, TCCA & EASA) related to aircraft cabins, an asset;
