Job Description: THE CLINICAL COORDINATOR, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE MANAGER, IS PRIMARILY ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE SYSTEM NAVIGATION AND COORDINATION OF PATIENT FLOW ON THE NURSING UNIT. THIS IS ACHIEVED BY THE COORDINATOR HAVING AN ONGOING AWARENESS AND INVOLVEMENT IN WORKFLOW OF THE UNIT. DUTIES INCLUDE BED MANAGEMENT, DISCHARGE PLANNING, ADVOCATING FOR THE PATIENT/FAMILY, IDENTIFYING SUPPLY AND EQUIPMENT NEEDS AND ASSISTING WITH STAFF SCHEDULING.
Human Resources Exemption: No
Education- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
- Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS)
- Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
- Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
- Advanced - Communication skills
- Advanced - Mediation skills
- Advanced - Problem solving skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Ability to be flexible and willing to change
