About the Role

Green Acres Nursery & Supply is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Data Systems Analyst to enhance our ability to meet business needs with best-in-class technology. The Data Systems Analyst will, on an ongoing basis, analyze and evaluate our organization's information systems, processes, and technology to identify and develop solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and functionality. The Data Systems Analyst will bridge the gap between business needs and technology, often working in and leading multi-disciplinary teams to design, implement, and maintain systems. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical proficiency, problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of organizational processes, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyzes and evaluates the organization's systems on an ongoing basis, by studying existing business processes, computer systems, processes, and technologies, to identify areas for improvement and potential problems
  • Uses systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users and other stakeholders to gather requirements by understanding and documenting business needs, and works with development teams to translate those needs into technical requirements for new or modified systems (hardware, software or system functional specifications)
  • Facilitates and manages the movement of projects through the software development lifecycle (SDLC) by coordinating and controlling the project work to satisfactory completion
  • Designs, develops, and proposes solutions to improve system performance, efficiency, and functionality
  • Collaborates with development teams to implement new or modified systems, ensuring they meet the defined requirements
  • Tests new systems to ensure they function correctly and provides ongoing maintenance and support
  • Trains end-users on how to use new or modified systems effectively
  • Reviews the outcomes of project implementations and validates against expected results
  • Stays current with technology by researching and evaluating new technologies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation, and to ensure compliance with legal requirements, regulatory issues, and business policies
  • Actively problem solves, acting as a link between IT and non-IT stakeholders to design or implement the correct computer software, hardware, and cloud services to solve business problems
  • Uses data modeling techniques to design computer systems and analyze data flows

Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field, along with 3-5 years of information systems experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's degree preferred, and relevant professional certifications a plus
  • Proven strong ability to understand, evaluate, articulate, and design solutions and process improvements that effectively meet stakeholder and business needs
  • Experience with and proven ability to accurately and effectively analyze, document, and translate business requirements into specifications by writing use cases, work breakdown structures, data flow diagrams, data models, and utilizing other technical documents
  • Extensive knowledge of computer systems, databases, and data modeling
  • Proficient with or able to quickly learn systems and software used by the organization
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven ability to collaborate effectively with teams and stakeholders at all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent leadership skills, with personal integrity and steadfast resolve
  • Ability to work independently and in highly collaborative environments
  • Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and comfortable using multiple online platforms; knowledge of Atlassian systems such as Jira and Confluence a strong plus
  • Must be able to work for prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer, and must have ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work full-time on-site from our Support Center in Folsom, CA, with travel to company locations and off-site locations as needed to achieve business objectives

Compensation & Benefits

The Data Systems Analyst position is a full-time, exempt position. The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 annually. We offer an industry-commensurate benefits package, including 401K with company match, health insurance (with HSA option and company contribution), dental insurance, vision insurance, paid vacation, paid sick, and merchandise discounts.
