Description:

SEL's Process Engineering team is seeking a visionary leader to guide a talented and experienced technical team to invent the future of inspection systems in printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) manufacturing. This position will oversee several dozen existing optical inspection systems (solder paste inspection, 3D automated optical inspection) and will be responsible for development and execution of a new technology roadmap, in partnership with Production and Engineering leaders. Future focus areas will include expanded optical inspection, x-ray inspection, and partnership with electrical test to ensure short feedback loops and coverage as our factories continue to grow.

As an Engineering Manager - Inspection Systems, a typical day will include the following:
  • Leads multiple disciplines/technologies/processes, keeping cost, schedule, and performance objectives in mind.
  • Assists portfolio planning and long-term strategy.
  • Performs management activities to attract, hire, supervise, and develop individual contributors to meet the goals of the group.
  • Participates at external meetings and presents at large internal meetings/forums.
  • Model, teach, and apply SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.


This role might be for you if you have:
  • A B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
  • 8+ years of related engineering or management experience
  • Strong technical knowledge in one or more engineering disciplines/technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to design/produce/support successful products/processes
  • An ability to manage product line/process problems requiring creativity, ingenuity, and guidance from manager
  • Strong desire to develop employees and lead projects
  • Ability to define general approaches and specific solutions to technical problems
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • An ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • An ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Data analysis experience
  • Experience with optical and x-ray inspection systems
  • Hardware and mechanical product design experience
  • Experience with PCBA manufacturing and related equipment programming
  • Project management experience and associated certification (PMP)
  • Capital planning experience

Pay Range Data:

New hires generally start between $91,100 - $142,700. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our salary ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
