Position Summary:

The Staff Engineer for Deliver Process Equipment Systems will support all aspects Distribution Center (DC) process equipment and requirements. The position will support the Engineering global lead for developing equipment and system plans and programs to be implemented in coordination with regional engineering partners for major DC brownfield and greenfield site projects as well as primary DC equipment upgrades and replacement projects. The Senior engineer will support and /or lead process equipment project deployments in close coordination with automation / systems engineering until operational stabilization and provide technical escalation support directly to project teams and gaining site team members. The Senior engineer will also provide technical direction to cross function team members for project guidance and operations teams for skill and competency development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- For approved strategic DC projects, support development of new deliver process systems and equipment plans and programs from concept to implementation / operational stabilization.

- For existing DC operations, lead / support major DC Deliver process equipment project workstreams from equipment design and specification through go-live / operational stabilization in coordination with regional segment engineering team and other cross function project team members.

- Support development of operational requirements for deployment of associated Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) for corresponding DC automated equipment. Support Deliver Automation engineers in design, implementation, and deployment of associated plans and programs. Partner with site teams for knowledge transfer for technical issues and developing maintenance procedures for future self-sufficiency.

- Partner with J&J technology organizations (ISRM, JJT, TQ) for equipment integration to J&J systems (e.g. JJT Servers and Network Infrastructure, Cyber Security & SOX).

- Coach and train junior technical team members, cross function team members, and sector regional talent in automation and WCS expertise.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Engineering (mechanical, electrical, industrial) or other related technical field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required

Required
  • Leadership and coordination of equipment specification development, budgeting, vendor management through equipment delivery and implementation;
  • IQ/OQ/PQ based validation plans; Engineering change control, protocol, and test development, execution, report writing
  • Working knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV) & SDLC Documentation & Testing Procedures
  • Controls / Automation - PLC, HMI, SCADA, OEE, Warehouse Control Systems

Preferred:
  • Highly automated manufacturing and /or distribution systems with high volume throughput in a GMP and/or regulatory environment
  • Distribution center equipment systems to include various pick and storage systems, high speed automation systems, robotic warehouse systems, vision and labeling systems, carton and packaging systems, and associated control systems
  • Project management skills (FPX), Six sigma certified.
  • Teaming and communication skills.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
91,000- 147,200

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
